AD Telecom is a company specialised in the areas of Radiofrequency and Microwaves, Digital Processing Signal, Digital Electronic, Operative Systems, Space and Photonics, Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions and enhancing radio-communications in shadow areas through signal repeaters.

The Signal Processing team holds 10 years of experience in researching the efficient implementation of signal processing algorithms over DSP or FPGA devices. By using exclusively SDR Technology, the radio signals are directly digitized and processed by Advanced Techniques of Digital Signal Processing.

The company has a multidisciplinary staff of engineers to fully cover all the industrial needs. AD Telecom provides an integral service, satisfying the engineering requirements of the client from preliminary product conception to the mass production, assembling, quality control, licensing, logistics and after-sales services.

AD Telecom manages three business lines:

  • Engineering: Design of electronic projects under costumer specifications. The company is highly experienced in digital hardware based on FPGA and microprocessor technology, printed circuits design, software design, prototype development, industrial design and assembly-line production.

  • In-house production: The company markets an extensive product line within the critical communications sector, particularly significant among which are the TETRA repeaters and Telecommunications equipment featuring remote monitoring systems.

  • Installations and maintenance for telecommunications companies: In collaboration with the R&D department, the installations department provide the most appropriate solutions for each project.

With 16 years of experience in the space sector, AD Telecom is a company with thorough expertise in space projects, most notable among which:

  • ADTelecom has developed the communication equipment for LEO orbit Nano-Satellites with SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology and provided the communication systems of the satellites NanoSat-01 and NanoSat-1B, developed by INTA. On-flight radio, Transmission and reception equipment (S-band and UHF band) and communications MODEM using anti-fuse technology FPGA.

  • Flight Model of PAU (Passive Advanced Unit) with FPGA Reprogrammable Technology, which is expected to be tested in-flight within the next years by the Polytechnic University UPC (Barcelona Tech).

  • Collaboration with IEEC (Instituto de Estudios Espaciales de Cataluña) for the development of an instrument for measurements of the ice thickness in polar regions through GPS reflectometry (ESA project reference 21793/08/NL/ST).

  • Deep-opt project: Prototype of a communications optical link for deep space developed in collaboration with the Swiss company OERLIKON and the Polytechnic University UPC (Barcelona Tech). This system stands out for the high directivity of the laser compared to radiofrequency. The demonstrator has been verified with a distance of 142 Km, in an experiment in the Canary Islands, between Tenerife and Las Palmas.
